Meet Dr. Muto

Hi, I’m Dr. Maria Muto.

Dr. Maria Muto, PT, DPT graduated from Temple University (TU) with a Bachelor’s Degree in both Kinesiology and Pre-Health Professions. She was on the National Honors Society and received a Merit Scholarship due to her accomplishments of making the Dean’s list for all three consecutive years.

In her senior year of study, Maria implemented an after school physical activity program with her colleagues at the Philadelphia Charter School for kids on the Autism Spectrum. She spent time working directly with the children and conducting research on how physical and social activity can lead to a better quality of life for those who are on the spectrum.

She then went on to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) at Columbia University’s (CUMC) Physical Therapy Program. She chose to study under the Advanced Orthopedic Track as she has interest in working with professional athletes.

Currently, Maria works for Integrative Chiropractic & Physical Therapy located in Landsdale, PA. The population she treats is all inclusive within the outpatient, orthopedic setting. For example, the injuries she treats are lumbopelvic pain, shoulder pathologies, arthritis, tendinopathy, radiculopathy, and ligamentous sprains. In addition, Maria is also a Pediatric Physical Therapist that works with infants between the ages of 4 weeks- 48 weeks.

The conditions she treats include, cerebral palsy, torticollis and gross motor delays/dysfunction. In the past, Maria has worked for Istituto Prosperius Tiberino located in the rural area of Umbria, Italy. The focus of treatment was on orthopedic conditions ranging from low back, neck and knee pain.
