Chiropractic Spinal Manipulation
Is Chiropractic Right for You?
Our team of Chiropractors specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders that may be causing pain and discomfort. Chiropractic treatment is used to reduce pain in joints that aren’t functioning properly.
The term “chiropractic adjustment” refers to the specific adjustment or manipulation our doctors apply to your vertebrae that have abnormal movement or aren’t functioning normally.
Simply put, we use manual adjustment techniques that eliminate misalignments in your spine that may be causing pain and other health problems.
Our treatment programs are specifically designed to increase range of motion, decreased pain, reduced nerve irritation, inflammation and increase overall nerve function.
The adjustments our doctors make are often accompanied by an audible release of gas called joint cavitation.
The audible sound — or cavitation — is caused by the release of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide, which releases joint pressure and decreases muscle spasm. Most of our patients feel relief after just a few treatments.
Some patients, however, experience minor discomfort that usually lasts for only a short time if the surrounding muscles are in spasm or when you tense up during the chiropractic procedure.
If you aren’t adequately relaxed during the chiropractic procedure and cracking does not happen, it’s sometimes best if we apply ice and have you rest.
We can also apply electrical stimulation and massage prior to attempting spinal manipulation.
Chiropractic adjustments are effective when you suffer from any of the following:
- Neck Pain
- Low Back pain
- Shoulder Pain
- Headaches
- Sciatica
- Disc Herniations
- Degenerative Disc Disease
- Sports Injuries
